We are determined to promote HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT in the community. These are the building blocks that will
enable the people of Carcasse to build from within.
Sanitation: Please click HERE to read the Report on Sanitation in Carcasse commissioned by St. Mary's and published August 2011. St. Mary's is committed to helping Carcasse find better ways to manage its sanitation.
HEREA Community Center/Rectory: Our current goal is to build a new building which will house both a community center for the villagers and a rectory. Pay Teachers: Having built a new school, we need to continue to pay the teachers salaries.
Water: A long-term ambitious goal is to help secure a clean water supply for the people of Carcasse.
Additionally we have other goals.
We are working with Lee Bristol, who supplied
solar electric power for our school, to create the first ever census for the
local area. This census would give us population numbers, identify
income levels, types of commerce, education levels and household needs.
This ambitious undertaking will allow us to apply for grants to fund projects
and better understand how to help this community
help themselves.
We are also striving to help Carcasse build its economy throughcoffee trade.
Finally we remain committed to helping bring more medical missions to Carcasse.
